Oasis singer attacked onstage

Oasis [ ]' Sunday (9/7) concert in Toronto was interrupted when an nameless man charged across the stage and shoved singer/guitarist Noel Gallagher from behind.

Video footage of the incident (included infra)--which took place spell the band was in the midst of acting its hit "Morning Glory"--shows the man run up behind Gallagher and criticize him downward, causing him to fall forward onto his monitoring device speakers. The assailant is then swarmed by the band's security staff.

"Despite his injuries, Noel returned to the stage a few minutes later to fill in the band's set simply was taken to hospital after the show to be examined for a suspected fractured rib and ligament impairment," reads a news brief posted today at the group's website. "The assailant was detained in police custody and will be charged with assault."

The brief goes on to articulate that "no decision has been made regarding Tuesday's [9/9] concert in London, Ontario," and advises fans to maintain checking the site for updates.
